Ok, i meant to do this a while back but didn't, but now since i have a bit of freetime, i might as well explain the name.
Eyes of Death Perception is a special power from a boy called Shiki in the anime/game/manga Lunar Legends: Tsukihime, made from Type-Moon, a fan-made doujin group which has turned 'pro' due to success of Tsukihime, its last project was Fate/Stay Night anime and Fate/Hollow Ataraxia. (Different games and characters from Tsukihime but all in the same universe).
Anyways, back onto the subject on hand, Shiki, has this power due to a freak accident, he wakes up to find everything he sees has lines all over it, these lines were covered everywhere, the bed, floor, tables, chairs and even humans. Confused about this, he went to check these lines out and found that he could break these lines, he first tried it out on his bed using a fruit knife. He manages to 'cut' the bed smoothly in these lines (i.e. cutting them like paper), and the bed falls apart with ease.
In any case, these lines are called 'Lines of Death', because of Shiki's ability, whenever he breaks these lines, no matter how strong the object is, the object 'dies', i.e. gets dismembered...
But thats not all, the Eyes of Death Perception are able to see the 'Dots of Existence', aside from the usual lines he sees, there are dots in the objects as well. If Shiki is able to break this dot, the object will cease to exist. Shiki first sees the dots in his battle against the Dead Apostle, Chaos Nero, who is very very strong with the ability to create 666 beasts (which are subsequently his lives as well). Shiki was able to kill Nero with the Eyes of Death Perception, unfortunately for Nero who was a pretty cool bad guy.
and thats it i guess.. but, u ask, theres many more stuff i didn't address to, like how Shiki deals with these lines if he doesn't like it? How does he get the power? Who can stop him?! etc.. unfortunately im out of time and im tired, my recommendation is to either watch the anime, read the manga, then play the game. IN THAT ORDER!
Oh, and why am i so into this? Mainly because Type-Moon's world (i.e. stuff about the church, dead apostles, Holy Grail and stuff) is much more vivd in detail and specialness, that i like it for being so different.
Cheerio.
