Ho hum, me, Peter, Louis and JD saw the latest movie from the hit Marvel comic, X-men and, generally we all had different opinions. Me and Peter thought it wasn't as good as the previous movies, while JD and Louis loved it.
First off, the movie was good, the fact being it had lots characters with cool super-human powers, great stuff, jumping around slashing people in a speedy, non-mericiless way while disintergrating everybody within a 20 foot radius around me.. except for one character.. yeah.. that fact alone makes this movie cool. Who wouldn't love super-powers, heck, I watched enough anime to desire super-human powers.
The action scenes were done 'decently' enough but unlike the last two movies, there weren't any good one-on-one fights (i.e. Wolverine vs Sabrewulf/Deathstrike), the movie did have somethign with Pyro vs Iceman, but then, that fizzled out into a crappy DBZ-style carnage, where each is trying to prove their power with a powerful fire/ice blast. .which ended poorly. Otherwise, the action scenes were nice though alot of them were fodder-like, 100s of random mutants attacking 6 known mutants wasn't as exciting as a proper fight between well-known characters.
Unfortunately, X3 stutters because of its overly-complicated story, the story makes sense but the direction was very very poor, it was all over the place and the movie didn't know where to stick with one sub-story or not. Sucky-ass story was the poor thing for this, they over-complicated it for a movie which is made for simplicity.
That said, i do hope for a new X-men movie, though they killed off major characters, there's still a slim chance of a revivial for this franchise.
Overall: 6.5/10
Grade: C+
PS: That bridge scene rocked!
